Diöcesan, griech.-lat.-deutsch, wer u. was zu einer Diöcese gehört; D.katechismus, das vom Bischof bestätigte und eingeführte Religionslehrbuch; D.patrocinium, das Fest des Schutzheiligen einer Diöcese; D.recht, ursprünglich gleichbedeutend mit Bischofsgewalt, dann der Inbegriff derjenigen Rechte, auf welche der Bischof verzichten darf, in neuer Zeit besonders das Recht des Bischofs, in seinem Sprengel kirchliche Abgaben, temporalia, zu erheben; D.statuten, auch D.constitutionen, die besonderen Vorschriften für eine Diöcese; D.synoden, s. Concil.
