August, Friedrich Wilhelm Heinrich, Prinz von Preußen, Sohn des 1813 gest. Prinzen August Ferdinand, geb. 1779, focht bereits in der Schlacht von Jena nicht ruhmlos, wurde aber bei Prenzlau gefangen. Im Befreiungskriege kommandirte er eine Brigade mit Auszeichnung und 1815 eroberte er mit dem 2. Armeekorps eine Anzahl franz. Festungen in rascher Aufeinanderfolge. Nach dem Kriege wurde er Chef der Artillerie und st. 19. Juli 1843.
