Belliard

Belliard (Bälliahr), Augustin Daniel Graf, geb. 1769 zu Fontenay in der Vendée, trat in der Revolutionszeit als Freiwilliger in das Heer u. wurde 1799 General; als Generalmajor der Cavallerie focht er bei Austerlitz, Jena und Friedland, dann in Spanien und im russ. Feldzug; bei Leipzig verlor er einen Arm. 1815 unterwarf er sich Ludwig XVIII., ward aber verhaftet, 1816 wieder freigelassen und 1819 zum Pair ernannt. Nach der Julirevolution erklärte er sich für Louis Philipp und ging als Gesandter nach Wien, um die Anerkennung der neuen Dynastie zu bewirken; st. 1832 in Belgien.
