Asher B. Durand

Asher Brown Durand (* 21. August 1796 in Jefferson Village, heute Maplewood, New Jersey; † 17. September 1886 in Maplewood, New Jersey) war ein US-amerikanischer Maler der Hudson River School sowie Zeichner, Kupferstecher und Illustrator.

Er war der Bruder des Stechers Cyrus Durand (1787-1868) und des Goldschmiedes und Stechers John Durand (1792-1820).

Durand war der erste amerikanische Maler, der vor der Natur arbeitete.
