Das 4-2-System ist neben dem 5-1-System und dem 4-0-2-System eine Spielvariante beim Volleyball.

Beim 4-2-System besteht die Mannschaft aus 2 Stellern und 4 Angreifern. Die beiden Steller stehen einander diagonal gegenüber, das bedeutet, dass bei jeder Rotation immer ein Steller am Netz steht. Im Unterschied zum 4-0-2-System übernimmt immer der Steller das Zuspiel, der auf einer der vorderen Positionen (Position 2, 3 und 4) des Feldes steht. Dieses System ist relativ einfach zu erlernen, hat aber den Nachteil, dass der Zuspieler immer nur auf 2 Angreifer als Anspielmöglichkeiten am Netz zurückgreifen kann.

Das Team besteht aus 3 Gruppen: je 2 Außenangreifer, 2 Mittelblocker und 2 Stellern, die sich diagonal gegenüberstehen.
