Als Versorger (engl.: Supply Vessels) bezeichnet man in der Zivilen Schifffahrt Schiffe, welche zur Unterstützung von Bohrinseln und ähnlichen Einrichtungen auf hoher See (Offshore) eingesetzt werden. Sie stellen die Versorgung der Bohrinseln mit Material sicher, dienen der Verschleppung von Bohrinseln zu neuen Standorten sowie der Absicherung der Bohrinseln. Sie sind mit leistungsfähigen Maschinen ausgestattet, um den widrigen Witterungsbedingungen zu trotzen, die oft in den Gebieten der Offshore Bohrinseln herrschen. Oftmals besitzen sie mehrere Bugstrahlruder.

Für diese Aufgaben kommen verschiedene Schiffstypen zum Einsatz, u. a.:

  • Platform Supply Vessels (PSV): reine Materialtransporter, die die benötigten Materialien und Gerätschaften zu den Bohrinseln transportieren
  • Anchor Handling Tugs (AHT): Ankerziehschlepper, die bei der Verschleppung von Bohrinseln verwendet werden.
  • Anchor Handling Tugs Supply (AHTS): kombinierte Ankerziehschlepper/Materialtransporter
  • Standby Vessels: Sicherheitsschiffe, die die Gewässer rund um die Bohrinseln absichern und die zur Bergung von Personen eingesetzt werden.

In den 70er- und 80er-Jahres des 20. Jahrhunderts waren deutsche Reedereien (u. a. VTG, DDG Hansa, URAG sowie T&S) stark in das Versorger-Geschäft involviert. Heute ist nur noch das Hamburger Unternehmen Harms Bergung mit seinen AHTs "Primus" (104 t Pfahlzug), "Magnus" und "Taurus" (je 200 t) sowie "Janus" und "Ursus" (je 219 t) in nennenswertem Umfang in dieser Branche aktiv. Zwei weitere AHT (geplante Namen: "Uranus" und "Orcus") mit 280 t sind bestellt.

Die von Harms bereederten Versorger "Centaurus", "Aelous" und "Cerberus", welche 2005 bzw. 2006 in Dienst gestellt wurden, sind im Frühjahr 2007 von ihren Eignern (Investmentfonds) verkauft worden und werden nicht mehr von Harms, sondern von E.R. Offshore, einem Unternehmen der Unternehmensgruppe E.R. Schiffahrt, aus Hamburg bereedert. Sie wurden umbenannt in "E.R. Kristiansand", E.R. Arendal" und "E.R. Bergen".
