Renovation

Als Renovierung (v. lat. renovare = „erneuern“) bezeichnet man Maßnahmen zur Instandsetzung von Bauwerken. Schäden aufgrund von Abnutzung durch den gewöhnlichen Gebrauch werden so beseitigt und der ursprüngliche Zustand wiederhergestellt.

Im Mietrecht ist Renovierung ein Synonym für Schönheitsreparaturen (Tapezieren, Streichen), deren Durchführung durch einen entsprechenden Mietvertrag meist auf den Mieter übertragen werden, was bei Instandsetzungsarbeiten (Reparaturen) nicht zulässig ist (Ausnahme: Kleinreparaturen).
