Av Beis Din

Av Beit Din, Av Beis Din (aschkenasische Aussprache), oder Av Beth Din (אב בית דין) Hebräisch (wörtlich „Herr des Hauses der Gerechtigkeit“) war der zweithöchste Rang des Sanhedrin, also der direkte Vertreter des Nasi.

Heute wird der Titel bei der Bezeichnung des Vorsitzenden eines Beth Din („Rabbinatsgericht“) genutzt, welcher meistens zeitgleich Großrabbiner einer jüdischen Gemeinde ist.
