Tenuto

Tenuto gehört in der allgemeinen Musik neben legato, portato, staccato zu den vier gebräuchlichen Vortragsbezeichungen. Wenn eine Note "tenuto" (gehalten) gespielt werden soll, so soll der Notenwert unter allen Umständen vollständig ausgehalten werden.

Von der impressionistischen Klavierliteratur an werden aus dem Gesamtklang hervorzuhebende Noten und Akkorde der geringen Anzahl gebräuchlicher Bezeichnungen wegen häufig ebenfalls mit einem Tenuto-Strich versehen. Welche Art von Betonung angestrebt wird, ist von Komponist zu Komponist unterschiedlich. In der Regel ist entweder eine rhythmische Verzögerung ähnlich dem Rubato oder eine geringe Verstärkung der Lautstärke gemeint.[1]

Der Tenuto-Strich wird im allgemeinen wie alle Artikulationen auf der dem Notenhals gegenüber liegenden Seite vom Notenkopf geschrieben.
