The Marcels waren eine US-amerikanische Vokalgruppe im Stil des Doo Wop der frühen 1960er Jahre.

Das Quintett wurde 1960 in Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania) gegründet und benannte sich nach einer „Haar-Mode“, die seinerzeit angesagt war. Die erste Aufnahme war eine eigene Doo Wop-Fassung des Klassikers Blue Moon aus dem Jahr 1934. Damit erreichten sie auf Anhieb Spitzenpositionen in internationalen Hitparaden und verkauften 2,5 Millionen Exemplare.

Es folgte 1961 noch ein weiterer Bestseller, bevor die Gruppe wieder verschwand. Im Jahr 2002 wurde die Band in die Vocal Group Hall of Fame aufgenommen.

2006 wurde ihr Hit „Heartaches“ von Peugeot für einen Werbespot wiederentdeckt.
