Thomas Tuma

Thomas Tuma (* 25. September 1964 in Bad Mergentheim) ist ein deutscher Journalist und Autor.

Leben

Tuma war nach einem Volontariat bei einer Lokalzeitung auf der Deutschen Journalistenschule und studierte in München und Washington, D.C. Journalistik[1]. Er war bei der Münchner Abendzeitung sowie bei Tango tätig.

Nach seiner Zeit beim Wochenmagazin Stern wechselte Tuma 1996 zum Nachrichtenmagazin Spiegel. Dort arbeitete er als Wirtschafts- und Medienredakteur. 2001 erschien Tumas Kriminalroman „Tödlicher Chat“, der vor der Veröffentlichung als Buch bereits teilweise im Internet publiziert und dort diskutiert wurde; in dem Roman versucht ein ehrgeiziger Journalist, einem geheimnisvollen Täter auf die Spur zu kommen, der sich in Chats an seine Opfer heranmacht, sich mit ihnen trifft und sie ermordet.

Seit 2002 ist Tuma Ressortleiter des Bereichs Wirtschaft beim Spiegel und dort auch als Kolumnist tätig. Seit 2010 ist er zudem Jurymitglied des Axel-Springer-Preises.[2] Zusammen mit Martin U. Müller erhält Tuma den 3. Preis beim Helmut-Schmidt-Journalistenpreis 2011 für den Spiegel-Artikel Weltreligion Shoppen.[3]
