Baron Brabourne of Brabourne im County of Kent ist ein britischer erblicher Adelstitel in der Peerage of the United Kingdom.

Die Baronie wird bray-burn ausgesprochen.

Baron Brabourne

Der Titel wurde 1880 für den liberalen Politiker Edward Knatchbull-Hugessen geschaffen, den zweiten Sohn von Sir Edward Knatchbull, 9. Baronet of Mersham Hatch. Dieser war Abgeordneter im House of Commons und Staatssekretär im Innen- und Kolonialministerium gewesen.

Seit 1919 heißt die Familie nur noch Knatchbull.

Der 7. Baron heiratete 1946 Patricia Mountbatten, die älteste Tochter des berühmten Marineoffiziers und letzten britischen Vizekönigs von Indien Louis Mountbatten, 1. Earl Mountbatten of Burma. Da dessen Titel kraft ausdrücklicher Regelung an seinen Töchter übergehen konnten, erbte Patricia Knatchbull beim Tode ihres Vaters im Jahre 1979 dessen Titel.

Beim Tode des 7. Barons im Jahre 2005 erbte dessen ältester Sohn die Baronswürde und wurde 8. Baron. Er wird beim Tode seiner Mutter auch deren Titel erben. Die Baronie wird dann zum nachgeordneten Titel der Earls Mountbatten of Burma werden.

Baronetcy of Mersham Hatch

Die Baronetcy wurde 1641 in der Baronetage of England für Norton Knatchbull geschaffen, der Abgeordneter im House of Commons gewesen war. Viele der nachfolgenden Baronets saßen ebenfalls im Unterhaus.

Beim Tode des 12. Baronets im Jahre 1917 ging der Titel auf dessen Cousin, den 4. Baron Brabourne über, der damit auch 13. Baronet wurde. Seitdem ist der Titel des Knatchbull Baronets of Mersham Hatch mit der Baronie Brabourne verbunden.
