Valtra [ˈʋɑltrɑ] ist eine finnische Traktorenmarke, die besonders robuste Schlepper für die Land- und Forstwirtschaft baut.

Fertigungsstätten sind in Suolahti, Finnland und Mogi das Cruzes, Brasilien (östlich von São Paulo). Valtra ist eine weltweit vertriebene Marke der AGCO-Corporation, des weltweit drittgrößten Landmaschinenherstellers.

Geschichte

Ende der vierziger Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts begann die staatliche Kanonenfabrik in Finnland Valion Tykkitehtaat mit der Entwicklung eines Traktors. Im Jahre 1951 wurde der Name VALtion METallitehtaat in Valmet Corporation umbenannt. 1994 wurde die Valmet-Traktorenfabrik in den Sisu-Konzern eingegliedert. 1997 wurde Sisu wiederum mit der Partek-Gruppe verschmolzen und Sisu-Tractors wurde umbenannt in Valtra Oy. Heute ist Valtra Marktführer in den skandinavischen Ländern. Seit Herbst 2003 gehört Valtra zur AGCO-Cooperation. 2004 erzielte Valtra mit knapp 2.000 Mitarbeitern einen Umsatz von 870 Millionen Euro. Die Gesamtfertigung in Finnland und Brasilien belief sich auf 19.500 Schlepper.
