A. Wit

Antoni Wit (* 1944 in Krakau) ist ein polnischer Dirigent.

Antoni Wit studierte an der Musikakademie Krakau dirigieren bei Henryk Czyż, Komposition bei Krzysztof Penderecki und Jura an der Jagiellonen-Universität. Dann vollendete er seine musikalische Ausbildung bei Nadia Boulanger in Paris. Mit dem 2. Platz des internationalen Herbert-von-Karajan-Wettbewerbs in Berlin in 1971 begann er seine internationale Karriere.

Erst leitete er das Pommersche Philharmonische Orchester (1974-77), dann war er Direktor des Polnischen Radio- und Fernsehorchesters in Krakau (1977-83), des Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria (1987-92) und der Nationalen Sinfonieorchester des Polnischen Rundfunks (1983-2000). Seit Januar 2003 ist er Direktor der Warschauer Nationalphilharmonie.
