Bayi

Die Großgemeinde Bayi (chinesisch 八一镇 Bāyī Zhèn) ist der Hauptort des Regierungsbezirks Nyingchi im Autonomen Gebiet Tibet in der Volksrepublik China. Er liegt im Kreis Nyingchi.

Früher hieß der Ort anders. Bayi (八一 bāyī), wörtlich: acht-eins, was im chinesischen die Bedeutung von 1. 8. hat, d.h. 1. August) ist der Jahrestag des Nanchang-Aufstands, der als der Gründungstag der Volksbefreiungsarmee betrachtet wird.
