A/B Test

A-B-Test ist eine Testmethode für Werbetestzwecke, bei der eine Originalversion eines Werbemittels gegen eine veränderte Version getestet wird.

Vorgehensweise

Der A-B-Test wird auch als Split-Run-Test bezeichnet, denn im Vorgehen wird die Zielgruppe in zwei Untergruppen aufgeteilt: Gruppe A und Gruppe B. Entsprechend der Aufteilung der Zielgruppe wird auch das Werbemittel wie z. B. eine Anzeige (Medien) zweigeteilt produziert: die Originalvariante und eine veränderte Variante. Anschließend wird bei der Gruppe A das Originalwerbemittel und bei der Gruppe B das veränderte Werbemittel eingesetzt und die Reaktionen verglichen. Mit Reaktion ist hierbei das gewünschte Wirkungsergebnis eines Werbmittels gemeint, wie zum Beispiel die Bestellung eines Produktes.

Voraussetzung/Abgrenzung

Beim A-B-Test wird im Gegensatz zum multivariaten Test nur eine Variable verändert und auf ihre Wirksamkeit hin getestet. Damit ein A-B-Test effektiv ist und die Ergebnisse Validität erreichen muss eine ausreichende Gruppengröße gegeben sein.

Anwendungsfelder

Neben dem Test von Anzeigen werden mittlerweile auch Onlinewerbeträger wie Banner oder ganze Websites mithilfe von A-B-Tests auf ihre Wirkung hin getestet.
