Bekkemellem

Karita Bekkemellem (* 15. Januar 1965 in Lillehammer) ist eine norwegische Politikerin (Ap). Sie ist in der fünften Periode Mitglied des Storting für die Provinz Møre og Romsdal. Im 1. Kabinett Stoltenberg 2000–2001 leitete sie das Kinder- und Familienministerium. Von 2001 bis 2005 war sie Mitglied und Fraktionsvorsitzende im Kirchen-, Bildungs- und Forschungskomitee. In der 2. Regierung Stoltenberg leitet sie bis zur Kabinettsumbildung am 18. Oktober 2007 das Kinder- und Gleichstellungsministerium.

Sie ist Vorsitzende der Frauenbewegung der Arbeiterpartei.

Sonstiges

Karita Bekkemellem war von 1994 bis 2005 mit Jon Orheim verheiratet, mit dem zusammen sie zwei Kinder hat.[1]
