Young British Artists

Young British Artists (YBAs) ist die Bezeichnung für eine 1988 entstandene britische Künstlerbewegung. Die meisten Gründer studierten am Londoner Goldsmiths College.

Im Jahr 1988 organisierte die Gruppe die vielbeachtete Ausstellung Freeze in den Londoner Docklands. Sie wurde von der BBC gefilmt, der Film wurde später mehrmals ausgestrahlt. 1997 folgte die Ausstellung Sensation.

Die Gruppe wurde von dem Sammler Charles Saatchi gefördert. Er besuchte die Ausstellung Freeze und fing an, die Werke der Künstler zu sammeln.
