Benjamin G. Lamme

Benjamin G. Lamme (* 12. Januar 1864 in Springfield (Ohio); † 8. Juli 1924) war ein US-amerikanischer Elektroingenieur und Chefingenieur bei Westinghouse.

Bis 1888 besuchte er die Ohio State University und begann im folgenden Jahr bei Westinghouse Electric, wo er bald Chefentwickler für elektrische Maschinen wurde.

Er erhielt Patente für Generatoren, elektrische Schiffsantriebe und eine Gyroskop-Schiffs-Stabilisierung.

Er entwickelte 1895/1896 die Generatoren für das unter der Leitung von Lewis B. Stillwell errichtete Kraftwerk an den Niagarafällen. Hierbei wurde er von seiner Schwester Bertha Lamme (1869–1943) unterstützt.

Er entwickelte auch das Kraftwerk für die Manhattan Elevated Railway in New York.

1918 wurde ihm die AIEE Edison Medal verliehen.
