Berry-Index

Der Berry-Index gibt den Grad der Diversifikation eines Konzerns an. Berechnet wird er als Komplement der Summe der quadrierten Umsatzanteile (in %) aller eigenständigen Bereiche eines Unternehmens.

DB=1-\sum(p(i))^2

Bsp.: B1: 10% B2: 20% B3: 30% B4: 40% p(i) sind hier die Umsatzanteile in %.

Berechnung:

Berry = 1 − (0,12 + 0,22 + 0,42 + 0,32) = 0,7

Der Wert des Berry-Index liegt zwischen 0 und 1. 0 bedeutet nicht diversifiziert (single business bzw. vollkommene Spezialisierung auf ein Produkt), je mehr der Wert gegen 1 tendiert, desto diversifizierter ist das Gesamtunternehmen.
