Betty’s Bay ist eine Kleinstadt mit rund 1.600 Einwohnern in der Gemeinde Overstrand, Distrikt Overberg, Provinz Westkap in Südafrika. Die Stadt liegt zwischen Kleinmond und Pringle Bay, 42 Kilometer südöstlich von Gordon's Bay in 0 Metern Höhe an der Küste an der Straße R44 (Clarence Drive). [1]

Erschlossen wurde der langgezogene Ort, ein rund acht Kilometer langes Straßendorf, um 1930 von Harold Nixon Porter und benannt nach der Tochter seines Chefs Betty Youlein.

Geschichte

Zwischen 1912 und 1930 war hier eine Walfangstation angesiedelt, aus der sich langsam der heutige Ort entwickelte.
