Die Bezalel Academy of Art and Design ist eine israelische Kunst- und Designhochschule mit etwa 1500 Studenten (Stand 2008). Sie wurde von Boris Schatz, einem Mitglied der bulgarischen Akademie der Künste, 1906 im damals noch osmanischen Jerusalem gegründet. Bis 1969 firmierte sie unter dem Namen Bezalel School for Arts & Crafts. Die Bezalel Academy, deren Namen sich auf den alttestamentarischen Bezalel, Exodus 35:30, bezieht, der von Gott den Auftrag zum Bau der Stiftshütte erhielt (sozusagen der erste biblische Architekt und Designer) ist heute die größte Design- und Kunsthochschule im Nahen Osten.

Seit 1986 sind die meisten Fakultäten auf dem Mount Scopus oberhalb der Hebrew University untergebracht. Dieser Auszug aus dem Stadtzentrum hat sch jedoch als nachteilig erwiesen, da die Integration in das städtische Leben ein wichtiger Punkt für eine Kunst- und Designhochschule ist. Daher ist die Rückkehr in die Stadt auf den so genannten Russian Compound geplant. Den Wettbewerb um die neuen Gebäude gewann 2007 das deutsch-türkische Architekturbüro Studyo Architects, Köln/Istanbul.

Die Akademie bildet in folgenden Ausbildungsgängen aus: Bildende Kunst, Visuelle Kommunikation, Fotografie, Industriedesign, Schmuckdesign, Architektur, Keramik und Glas, Video und Animation, Screen-based-Design. Sie bietet in verschiedenen Studiengängen Master-Studiengänge an, so seit 2004 auch im Industriedesign.
