Birmingham Wire Gauge, abgekürzt BWG ist eine britische Kodierung für massiven Draht.
Das System wurde Anfang bis Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts durch die Birmingham Wire Gauge Company eingeführt. Diese Firma war seinerzeit der bedeutendste Hersteller von Klavierdraht, der durch außergewöhnliche Zug- und Reißfestigkeit gekennzeichnet war.
