Bongo Song

Safri Duo ist ein dänisches Musiker-Duo, welches sich durch seine Perkussion hervorhebt (erst Klassik, später Dance).

Werdegang

Das Duo setzt sich aus Uffe Savery und Morten Friis zusammen (wobei Safri aus den beiden Nachnamen zusammengesetzt wurde). Beide sind Schulfreunde, die auch zusammen am Königlich Dänischen Konservatorium für Musik ihr Musikdiplom gemacht haben. Seit 1988 haben beide klassische Werke für ihre Perkussion-Musik umgeschrieben und sind damit weltweit aufgetreten.

Der Durchbruch kam allerdings erst, als beide ihren Stil änderten und auf Dance/Trance umstiegen. Ihr größter Erfolg war „Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song)“ (2001 Platz 3 in den deutschen Charts und Platz 1 der Schweizer Charts). Außerdem erhielten sie 2002 den Echo für Best International Dance Act. Des Weiteren nahmen sie an der Tournee der Nokia Night of the Proms im Jahr 2005 teil und spielten dort einige ihrer Lieder zusammen mit einem Orchester.
