Gemma Atkinson

Gemma Louise Atkinson (* 15. November 1984 in Bury, England) ist eine britische Schauspielerin und ein Glamourmodel.

Leben

Atkinson erreichte ab 2001 mit ihrer Rolle Lisa Hunter in der britischen Soap Opera Hollyoaks größere Bekanntheit. Auch in verschiedenen Spin-Offs der Serie übernahm sie diese Rolle.

2007 nahm sie an der siebten Staffel der TV-Show I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! teil. Es folgten Teilnahmen an zahlreichen weiteren TV-Shows wie etwa 2007 in der Gesangsshow Soapstar Superstar.

Ab 2008 spielte sie zahlreiche kleinere Rollen in verschiedenen Theaterstücken, so etwa in Peter Pan am Manchester Opera House oder 2010 eine Hauptrolle in This Is How It Goes am The King's Head Theatre in Islington. Mit dem Stück Calendar Girls ging sie auf Tournee. Für die Videospiele Command & Conquer: Alarmstufe Rot 3 (2008) und Command & Conquer: Alarmstufe Rot 3 - Der Aufstand (2009) trat sie in der Rolle von Lt. Eva McKenna auf.

2009 spielte sie in dem Independentfilm Boogie Woogie, der auf dem Edinburgh International Film Festival vorgestellt wurde. 2010 folgten Auftritte im Horrorfilm 13Hrs, im Film Baseline und in der romantischen Komödie The Sweet Shop.

Größere Popularität erreichte sie insbesondere durch Fotoshootings in Männermagazinen wie FHM oder Maxim. So konnte sie seit 2006 in jedem Jahr einen Platz in den britischen FHM's 100 Sexiest Women erreichen.

Privates

Atkinson war kurzzeitig mit dem portugiesischen Fußballer Cristiano Ronaldo liiert und war verlobt mit dem englischen Fußballer Marcus Bent. Aktuell ist sie mit Liam Richards zusammen, der 2008 Finalist der TV-Show Britain’s Got Talent war.
