Charles Walcott (1850–1927)
Charles Doolittle Walcott (* 31. März 1850 in New York Mills, New York; † 9. Februar 1927) war ein US-amerikanischer Paläontologe.
Walcott war von 1894 bis 1907 Direktor des US Geological Survey und anschließend Nachfolger von Samuel Pierpont Langley als Sekretär der Smithsonian Institution.
Er entdeckte 1909 den Burgess-Schiefer, einen Fundort von Schwarzschiefersedimenten in der Nähe von Fields (British Columbia, Canada).
