Die Off Road Kids Stiftung ist das einzige bundesweit tätige Hilfswerk für Straßenkinder in Deutschland und betreibt Streetwork-Stationen in Berlin, Hamburg, Dortmund und Köln. Die Nichtregierungsorganisation wurde 1993 zunächst als Verein in Donaueschingen von Markus Seidel gegründet. Seitdem hat Off Road Kids ca. 1500 jungen Menschen neue Perspektiven abseits des Straßenlebens vermittelt. Alle betreuten Jugendlichen erreichen aktuell einen Realschulabschluss[1].

Die Off Road Kids Stiftung bietet:

  • Hilfe bei der Perspektivensuche für Straßenkinder und junge Ausreißer (insbesondere in den Städten Berlin, Hamburg, Dortmund und Köln)
  • Bundesweite Begleitung von Ausreißern zu Eltern, Jugendämtern und Jugendhilfeeinrichtungen
  • Telefonische Erziehungsberatung für Eltern von Ausreißern
  • Hilfe bei der Suche nach verschwundenen Kindern
  • Eigene Kinderheimplätze in Bad Dürrheim im Schwarzwald.

Schirmherr von Off Road Kids ist Rüdiger Grube.

Zusammen mit der Steinbeis-Hochschule Berlin hat die Off Road Kids Stiftung am 17. April 2008 in Bad Dürrheim das Institut für Pädagogikmanagement (IfPM) gegründet. Es ermöglicht damit Erziehern und Erzieherinnen ohne Abitur ein berufsbegleitendes Hochschulstudium. Schirmherrin des Hochschulinstituts ist Annette Schavan.[2]

Off Road Kids war Ideengeber des Buddy-Projekts.

Am 3. März 2009 war Off Road Kids eine Station bei Deutschland – Land der Ideen in Bad Dürrheim [3].
