Pingo Doce ist mit über 350 Filialen die größte Supermarktkette Portugals. Sie gehört zur Jerónimo-Martins-Gruppe, deren Inhaber der namensgebende Jerónimo Martins ist, der in den 1990ern auch die brasilianische Supermarktkette Sé Supermercados aufkaufte, dem brasilianischen Äquivalent von Pingo Doce. In den frühen 2000ern kaufte Companhia Brasileira de Distribuição / Grupo Pão de Açúcar Sé auf und benannte die Läden um zu Pão de Açúcar und CompreBem. 2008 bis 2010 hat Pingo Doce die Marke Feira Nova übernommen.
