Der Rhode Island Sound ist eine Meeresstraße an der Küste des US-Bundesstaates Rhode Island an der Mündung der Narragansett Bay. Er bildet den östlichen Teil des Long Island Sound und ist mit dem Atlantik zwischen Block Island und Martha’s Vineyard verbunden.

Er schließt sich im Osten an den Block Island Sound an. Östlich des Rhode Island Sounds liegt der Vineyard Sound, nordöstlich die Buzzards Bay.
