Sinsemilla (span. sin semilla: ohne Samen) ist eine Sorte von Marihuana. Es handelt sich um getrocknete Blütenstände der weiblichen Hanfpflanze, die keine Samen enthalten. Sinsemilla gewinnt man, indem die weiblichen von den männlichen Pflanzen getrennt werden, sobald das Geschlecht erkennbar ist.

Bei der Sinsemilla-Produktion erhöht sich der THC-Gehalt in den Blüten selbst nicht. Das fertige Produkt kann aber durch die veränderte Zusammensetzung THC-Anteile bis zu 22% erreichen.[1] In 452 beschlagnahmten Proben aus England in den Jahren 2004 bis 2005 betrug der durchschnittliche THC-Gehalt im Sinsemilla 13,9%, gegenüber 2,1% im konventionellen Marihuana. Ebenso erhöht sich der Anteil an Ätherischen Ölen.[2] Für die medizinische Nutzung wird Sinsemilla mit Einschränkungen empfohlen. Zwar muss theoretisch gegenüber konventionellem Marihuana weniger Rauch eingeatmet werden, um die gleiche Wirkung zu erzielen. Tatsächlich wird jedoch nicht automatisch mehr THC vom Körper aufgenommen. Ursache ist möglicherweise ein anderes Brennverhalten des getrockneten Krautes.[3]

Zu den Marktanteilen gibt es unterschiedliche Angaben. In den englischen Proben von 2004/2005 war Indoor-Sinsemilla die häufigste Cannabis-Form.[4] Nach Angaben der Zeitschrift Addiction, ebenfalls von 2005, habe Sinsemilla nur in den Niederlanden eine dominierende Marktstellung und spiele in anderen europäischen Ländern eine untergeordnete Rolle.[5]
