Yvonne M. Barr

Yvonne M. Barr (* 1932 in London) ist eine englische Virologin. 1964 entdeckte sie zusammen mit Michael Anthony Epstein und Bert G. Achong in Zellkulturen von afrikanischen Burkitt-Lymphomen das später so benannte Epstein-Barr-Virus.

Leben und Wirken

Barr erhielt ihren Doktorgrad an der Universität London 1966. Sie war Epsteins Assistentin an der Middlesex Hospital Medical School.

Sie heiratete einen Australier und lebt seitdem in Australien.
