Die Kürettage (auch in der französischen Ursprungsschreibung die Curettage - wörtlich die Auskratzung, Ausschabung) ist ein in Zahnmedizin, operativer Gynäkologie und Dermatologie verwendeter Begriff, der die operative Entfernung eines Gewebes durch Ausschabung bezeichnet. Die Ausschabung der Gebärmutterschleimhaut wird auch Abrasio uteri (synonyme Kurzform: Abrasio) genannt.

Anwendungen

  • In der Zahnmedizin bezeichnet die offene oder geschlossene Curettage einen Eingriff zur Parodontitisbehandlung.
  • In der Gynäkologie ist damit in den meisten Fällen eine Ausschabung der Gebärmutterschleimhaut (Endometrium) gemeint. Sie wird zu diagnostischen (beispielsweise Störungen der Monatsblutung, Verdacht auf Neoplasie) und zu therapeutischen Zwecken (für die Frau, beispielsweise bei Abbruch einer Schwangerschaft oder nach Fehlgeburt) angewandt.
  • In der Dermatologie kommt die Kürettage zum Beispiel zur Entfernung von seborrhoischen Warzen zum Einsatz.

Durchführung

Zur Durchführung bedient man sich eines scharfkantigen Instruments (Kürette), das speziell für sein Einsatzgebiet geformt wurde.
