Castagneto Carducci - ursprünglich Castagneto - ist ein Dorf in der Provinz Livorno in der Region Toskana, das zu Ehren des Dichters Giosuè Carducci, der dort seine Kindheit verbrachte, umbenannt wurde.

Geschichte

Der Ort ist seit 754 n.Chr bekannt. In dem Dorf heiratete am 9. Juli 2005 Alexandra Prinzessin zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn den Grafen Stefano Hunyady von Kéthely.

Ortsteil Marina di Castagneto Carducci

Der am Meer liegende Ortsteil der Gemeinde. Schöner und gepflegter Sandstrand mit entsprechender Infrastruktur.

Ortsteil Donoratico

Der zwischen Meer und Castagneto Carducci liegende Ortsteil der Gemeinde heißt Donoratico. Dort lebt der Großteil der Einwohner Castagnetos, man findet zahlreiche Bars, Restaurants, eine Disco, einen Campingplatz und eine Burgruine. Nach dieser Burg führte die pisanische Familie Gherardesca ihren Grafentitel.
