Elvin Ernest Hayes (* 17. November 1945 in Rayville, Louisiana) ist ein ehemaliger US-amerikanischer Basketballspieler. Er spielte auf den Positionen Forward und Center. Von 1968 bis 1984 spielte Hayes in der US-Profiliga NBA, u.a. bei den San Diego Rockets und Washington Bullets. Mit den Bullets gewann Hayes 1978 die NBA-Meisterschaft. Hayes gilt als einer der besten Spieler der 1970er. So wurde er zwischen 1969 und 1980 zwölf mal für das NBA All-Star Game nominiert. Mit 27.313 Punkten liegt er auf Platz 8 der erfolgreichsten NBA-Spieler. Elvin Hayes wurde 1990 in die Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame aufgenommen.
