Airtours International Airways war eine britische Charterfluggesellschaft mit Sitz in Manchester.

Geschichte

Airtours International Airways wurde im Jahr 1990 in Manchester gegründet. Ein Jahr später begann der Flugbetrieb mit einer Flotte von zunächst drei McDonnell Douglas MD-83, die jedoch schon Ende 1991 erweitert werden konnte.

1993 übernahm die Airtours Holding den Konkurrenten Aspro Holidays aus Irland und dessen Fluggesellschaft Intereuropean. Ab 1994 wurde die Flotte mit dem Airbus A320 ergänzt. Zusätzlich kamen noch zwei Boeing 767 dazu, um Flüge nach Thailand und in die USA anbieten zu können. Im Jahre 1996 erwarb Airtours 50 Prozent der skandinavische Chartergesellschaft Premiair.

2004 wurde Airtours restrukturiert und mit MyTravel Airways verschmolzen, die später ihrerseits in der heutigen Thomas Cook Airlines aufging.
