Free Float

Unter dem Streubesitz, auch Free Float (englisch), versteht man jene Aktien eines Unternehmens, die am Markt frei gehandelt werden und nicht im Besitz von Anlegern sind, welche sich dauerhaft an der Unternehmung beteiligen wollen. Das Gegenteil davon ist das Schachtelprivileg.

Wenn ein Anleger mehr als 5 % des Aktienkapitals einer Aktiengesellschaft besitzt, spricht man von Festbesitz.

Die Deutsche Börse AG bewertet seit Juni 2002 die Aktienindizes nach dem Börsenumsatz (turnover) und der Marktkapitalisierung (market cap) auf Basis des Streubesitzes.

Zum 31. Dezember 2006 führten folgende zehn DAX-Unternehmen mit der höchsten Marktkapitalisierung der Aktien die sogenannte Freefloat-Rangliste an:

  1. E.ON AG
  2. Allianz AG
  3. Siemens AG
  4. Deutsche Bank AG
  5. Daimler AG
  6. RWE AG
  7. Deutsche Telekom AG
  8. BASF AG
  9. SAP AG
  10. Bayer AG

Die größten Börsenumsätze in den letzten 12 Monaten zum 31. Dezember 2006 erzielten nach der Freefloat-Rangliste folgende zehn DAX-Unternehmen:

  1. Allianz AG
  2. Deutsche Telekom AG
  3. Deutsche Bank AG
  4. Siemens AG
  5. E.ON AG
  6. Daimler AG
  7. SAP AG
  8. RWE AG
  9. Münchener Rück
  10. BASF AG
