Geshtinanna

Geštinanna, auch Geschtianna, Gestianna (sumerisch DINGIRGEŠTIN.AN.NA, auch DINGIRMU.TIN.AN.NA, Göttin der himmlischen Weinreben; in anderer Form auch AMA.DINGIRGEŠTIN als Mutter der Weinrebe) ist ursprünglich eine sumerische Muttergöttin. Sie wird auch als Herrin der Steppe und Mutter der Schafe in Hirtenfunktion genannt. Zusätzlich gilt sie als weise Traumdeuterin. Sie ist Tochter der DINGIRZE.ER.TUR (TUR.DU).

In der akkadisch-babylonischen Überlieferung nimmt sie den Rang einer Unterweltsgöttin ein. Sie ist die Schwester von Dumuzi und Gattin von Ningišzida. Sie entspricht bei den Akkadern der Bēlet-sēri, bei den Babyloniern Ekallim. In ihrer akkadischen und babylonischen Form fungiert sie zusätzlich als „Herrin der Tempel“.
