1st Queen's Dragoon Guards

1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards (QDG, wörtlich „1. Dragoner-Wache der Königin“) ist ein sogenanntes „gepanzertes Kavallerieregiment“ der Britischen Armee. Es wurde 1959 aus den ehemaligen 1st King’s Dragoon Guards und den Queen’s Bays gebildet, die beide bereits 1685 von König James II von England gegründet worden waren.

Das Regiment war in beiden Golfkriegen im Irak im Einsatz. Im jüngsten Irakkrieg oblag den QDG der Aufbau und der Betrieb des Gefangenenlagers in Umm Qasr (später: Camp Bucca).
