Ein Kapuzenpullover, umgangssprachlich auch Kapuzenpulli, ist ein Pullover, meist ein Sweatshirt mit einer angeschnittenen Kapuze. Häufig besitzen sie auch eine tunnelartige Bauchtasche (Kängurutasche) und Schnüre, um die Kapuze mehr oder weniger fest zuschnüren zu können. Ein charakteristisches Merkmal ist, dass sie meistens breit geschnitten sind.

Synonym werden die Begriffe "Schlumpf", "Kapu", "Kapuzi" oder "Hoodie" (im Englischen die übliche Bezeichnung; abgeleitet vom englischen hooded sweatshirt) verwendet. Die jackenartige Variante mit Reißverschluss wird "Zip" oder "Full Zip Hooded Sweatshirt" genannt.

Geschichte

Die Geschichte des besonderen Kleidungsstück begann in den 1930er Jahren, aber der historischen Präzedenzfall des Stils und der Form des Kapuzenpullover war im Mittelalter, da die formelle Kleidung der katholischen Mönche eine Art Kapuze hatten. In der Neuzeit wurde der Kapuzenpullover in den 1930er von Champion für die Arbeiter von Tiefkühllagern in New York produziert. Danach wurde er als Sportbekleidung populär und es wurden viele Modelle produziert. Schließlich wurde der Kapuzenpullover ein Merkmal für die Hip-Hop Kultur. Heute wird er meist von Jugendlichen getragen.
