Ibis ist eine Marke der Accor-Hotelkette. Ibis-Hotels findet man weltweit, jedoch hauptsächlich in Europa, vor allem in Frankreich. Die Ibis-Hotels sind bezüglich des Standards bei Accor zwischen Mercure-Hotels und Etap-Hotels angesiedelt. Sie liegen zum Großteil im 2-Sterne-Bereich.

Insgesamt gibt es über 900 Ibis-Hotels, davon befinden sich 370 in Frankreich, der Rest ist über die ganze Welt verteilt, mit Schwerpunkt in Europa. Das erste Ibis-Hotel eröffnete 1974 in Bordeaux.

Lage und Komfort

Ibis-Hotels befinden sich meist im Stadtzentrum oder in Stadtrandlage, Bahnhofsnähe, Autobahnnähe oder Gewerbegebieten. In der Regel sind sie mit einer Hotelbar, einzelne Hotels auch mit einem Restaurant ausgestattet.

Die Zimmer sind zumeist kleine Doppelzimmer, selten Dreibettzimmer, mit eigenem Bad (Dusche und WC) sowie Fernseher, Schreibtisch und Schrank. Die Farbgebung des Hotels (Fußböden, Decken) war bisher der Farbe des Ibis-Logos angeglichen. Aktuell führt Ibis allerdings schrittweise ein neues Zimmerdesign ein, das diesem Prinzip nicht mehr folgt. Hier dominieren nun eher helle, zurückhaltenden Holzfarben, ein Flachbildfernseher an der Wand gegenüber dem Bett ersetzt den bisherigen Fernsehapparat und an die Stelle des Teppichbodens tritt ein Laminatfußboden. Insgesamt ist die Ausstattung der Zimmer schlicht, aber modern. Die Möblierung ist in allen Ibis-Hotels identisch, lediglich die Bilder an der Wand sind unterschiedlich.

Restaurant

Es gibt ein Frühaufsteher- (04:30-06:30), ein Buffet- (6:30-10:30, an Wochenenden bis 11:00) und ein Spätaufsteherfrühstück (10:00-12:00). Ibis-Hotels sind oft Garni-Hotels, in denen es keine Mittags- und Abendküche gibt. Es werden aber rund um die Uhr Snacks zubereitet, die man auch mit aufs Zimmer nehmen kann.
