Der Bucklige von Rom ist ein Film, der orig. Titel ist Il Gobbo (ital. Gobbo: bucklig oder der Bucklige). Der Film mit dem Genre Drama wurde 1960 In Italien/Frankreich produziert und am 22. Juni 1961 erstaufgeführt.

Handlung

Ein junger Italiener, der bucklige Alvaro geht 1943/44 unter die antifaschistischen Partisanen und kämpft dort als Anführer gegen die Faschisten. Wegen seiner Arroganz wird er schließlich von den eigenen Leuten verstoßen. In der amerikanischen Besatzungszeit nimmt er sein rebellisches Treiben wieder auf (tollkühn raubt er ein Waffendepot aus) und wird als Gangster zusammen mit seiner Geliebten Ninetta, einer Prostituierten, niedergeschossen. Die Tochter seines ärgsten Feindes, versteckt ihn.
