Jacob Rosanes

Jacob Rosanes (auch: Jakob Rosanes; * 13. August 1842 in Brody, jetzt Ukraine; † 6. Januar 1922) war ein deutscher Mathematiker und Schachmeister.

Rosanes studierte an den Universitäten Berlin und Breslau. 1865 wurde er an der Universität Breslau promoviert. Er lehrte für den Rest seines Arbeitslebens dort, von 1865 bis 1911. 1876 wurde er Professor; 1903/04 war er Rektor der Universität.
