Jolt Cola ist eine Cola mit einem für Colagetränke überdurchschnittlich hohen Koffeingehalt von 317 mg/l[1]. Dieser ist nicht höher als bei mittelstarkem Kaffee.

Jolt wurde 1986 in den USA erfunden und ist mittlerweile auch in Deutschland erhältlich. Das Jolt-Cola-Logo besteht aus einem gelben Blitz, der das Wort Jolt im Buchstaben o durchschlägt.

Frühere Jolt-Rezepte hatten weniger Zucker als das aktuell verkaufte Produkt, dennoch schmeckt Jolt wegen des hohen Koffeingehalts – welcher als Bitterstoff fungiert – nicht allzu süß. 0,5 Liter Jolt Cola enthalten ungefähr dreimal so viel Koffein wie ein Espresso und ungefähr doppelt so viel wie das Konkurrenzprodukt Coca-Cola.

Jolt Cola wurde ursprünglich von The Jolt Cola Company aus Rochester in New York hergestellt; mittlerweile wird sie von Wet Planet Beverages produziert, die ebenfalls aus Rochester stammen. In Deutschland wird der Vertrieb von Jolt durch Klaus Dörrenhaus Marketing (KDM) aus Köln übernommen.

In den USA gibt es zusätzliche Geschmacksrichtungen, die in Deutschland noch nicht vertrieben werden.
