Der englischsprachige Begriff Annealing (dt. ausheilen, glühen) steht:

  • in der Genetik für primer annealing als Synonym für die Primerhybridisierung
  • in der Werkstoffbearbeitung (vor allem in der Halbleitertechnologie) für das Ausheizen/Ausheilen von Kristalldefekten

Entsprechend ist die Annealing-Temperatur die Ausheilungstemperatur, also die Temperatur bei der der Ausheilungsprozeß stattfindet.
