Leslie Knox Munro

Sir Leslie Knox Munro (* 26. Februar 1901 in Auckland, Neuseeland; † 13. Februar 1974) war ein neuseeländischer Politiker, Diplomat und Journalist.

Munro ging in die Auckland Grammar School und besuchte die Universität Auckland, wo er den akademischen Grad eines Master of Law erlangte.

Leslie Munro war Botschafter in den USA, ab Februar 1952 ständiger Vertreter seines Landes bei den Vereinten Nationen und Präsident der 12. Sitzungsperiode der UN-Generalversammlung.

1955 war er Präsident des UN-Sicherheitsrates, und hatte unter anderem auch über die Blockade des Suezkanals für israelische Schiffe durch Ägypten zu beraten.

Leslie Munro wurde 1955 zum Ritter (KCMG) des Ordens von St. Michael und St. Georg und 1957 zum Ritter (KCVO) des königlich viktorianischen Ordens (The Royal Victorian Order (1896)) geschlagen.

Er war verheiratet und hatte zwei Töchter.
