Lex Dei

Lex Dei

Mosaicarum et Romanarum legum collatio oder auch Lex Dei ist der Titel eines anonymen Werkes aus dem 4. oder 5. Jahrhundert. In dem aus 16 Abschnitten bestehenden Werk werden den Geboten des jüdischen Dekalogs entsprechende Passagen des Römischen Rechts gegenübergestellt. Diese sind Auszüge aus den Werken des Gaius, Modestinus, Papian, Iulius Paulus, Ulpian, sowie des Codex Gregorianus und des Codex Hermogenianus. Verfasser und Zweck sind nicht bekannt. Hyamson vermutet jedoch als Verfasser einen an einem italienischen Bischofssitz arbeitenden Kleriker und als Zeitraum der Entstehung zwischen 390 und 438.
