Antanaitis

Vaidotas Antanaitis (* 27. August 1928 im Hof Anitava, Gemeinde Vadokliai, Kreis Panevėžys) ist ein litauischer Forstwissenschaftler, ehemaliger Politiker (Forstwirtschaftsminister) und Diplomat, Botschafter Litauens.

Von 1935 bis 1940 lernte Vaidotas Antanaitis an der 1. Grundschule Panevėžys und von 1945 bis 1947 an der 9. Mittelschule Kaunas. Nach dem Abitur studierte er von 1947 bis 1949 an der Universität Vilnius sowie 1952 absolvierte das Studium an der Forsttechnikakademie Leningrad. Von 1954 bis 1957 studierte er weiter an der Aspirantur am Forsttechnikinstitut Moskau und von 1966 bis 1969 an der Aspirantur der Landwirtschaftlichen Akademie Litauens und wurde Doktor.

Von 1988 bis 1990 war Vaidotas Antanaitis Mitglied des Rats von "Sąjūdis", von 1989 bis 1990 Deputat des Obersten Rats der UdSSR, von 1990 bis 1992 Forstwirtschaftsminister Litauens, von 1992 bis 1993 Botschafter Litauens für Deutschland.

Vaidotas Antanaitis ist verheiratet; Frau Rymantė, Sohn Juozas (1956–1994).
