Aozora Bunko

Aozora Bunko (jap. 青空文庫, dt. „Bibliothek des blauen Himmels“) ist ein japanisches Projekt zum Aufbau einer elektronischen Bibliothek frei zugänglicher Texte, ähnlich dem Project Gutenberg. Auf der Website werden japanische Texte, vorwiegend aus der Meiji- und frühen Shōwa-Zeit, deren Urheberrecht bereits abgelaufen ist, kostenfrei angeboten.

Hintergrund

In Japan läuft das Urheberrecht bereits nach 50 Jahren nach dem Tod des Autors aus. Daher gibt es auf der Seite schon früher Texte als z. B. auf Project Gutenberg. Das Projekt spricht sich gegen die Ausweitung des Urheberrechts auf 70 Jahre aus und sucht dagegen Unterschriften.[1]

Die Texte sind entweder als Text- oder als XHTML-Datei verfügbar. Bei den XHTML-Dateien wird die Ruby-Erweiterung des W3C benutzt.
