Ein Aporepressor ist in der Molekularbiologie ein Protein, das durch ein Regulatorgen kodiert wird und dann im Grundzustand als inaktiver Repressor vorliegt. Erst wenn der zugehörige Corepressor an den Aporepressor bindet, wird er aktiv und lagert sich an den Operator eines Gens auf der DNA an. Durch die Anlagerung wird daraufhin die Genexpression des Operons gehemmt bzw. komplett inaktiviert.
