Muspell

Muspell (altnordisch Muspellr, zum Weltuntergang gehörender Riese) ist in der nordischen Mythologie das durch einen Riesen personifizierte Feuer. Er herrscht in Muspellsheim und ist möglicherweise identisch mit Surt.

Seine Söhne (Muspellz synir) kämpfen bei Ragnarök auf dem Totenschiff Naglfar. Außerdem zerstören Muspellrs Söhne bei Ragnarök die Himmelsstraße Bifröst, als sie darüber reiten. (Gylfaginning, 13)
